Pièce de Poche. (La) Rue Serendip / Veranos de la Villa

On the 13 and 14 August, the southern courtyard of the Conde Duque Cultural Centre is hosting a show by contemporary dance company (La) Rue Serendip led by dancers Tristan Bénon (Switzerland) and Prunelle Bry (New Caledonia). This production is being presented as part of this year’s Veranos de la Villa festival.

Based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, (La) Rue Serendip aims to bring dance and physical expression in general to a broader audience who may not have easy access to it through mediation and creative processes.

In Pièce de Poche (Pocket Show), the aim is to get bodies to say more about feelings than words could ever convey through two people who never tire of coming together and establishing a relationship with each other through movement and their gaze. Ideas, perceptions and habits collide, and it’s about finding a way between them, finding a place, holding your line or letting yourself be carried away.

The sometimes crazy situations this duo find themselves in reveal the mechanisms of our coexistence in a kind and humorous way. The company likes to mix contemporary dance with circus arts and music, making the most of the public outdoor space to unfurl its playful universe for everyone to enjoy.
