Remansos, Sinatra Suite, Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, Passengers Within - National Dance Company / Veranos de la Villa

The National Dance Company, directed by Joaquín de Luz, will be coming to the Central Courtyard of the Conde Duque Cultural Centre from 18 to 21 July to perform four pieces from its repertoire.  This event is part of the programme of the ninth edition of the Veranos de la Villa festival.

The first piece is Remansos, by Nacho Duato, a piece by the former director of the National Dance Company who commented on the expressive force, the geometry of lines and the dynamic use of space at its première. On the other hand, Sinatra Suite by Twyla Tharp is made up of four duets from Nine Sinatra Songs danced by a single couple in which the choreographer reworked One For My Baby into a solo for Baryshnikov.

Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux by George Balanchine is presented as a virtuoso ballet that is brief, beautiful and loved worldwide: an adrenaline rush for both dancers and the audience. The final piece is Passengers Within, by Joaquín De Luz, which features music by Philip Glass and offers a reflection on today's society.
