IBEROEXPERIA is returning to Spain, presenting a season of concerts taking place at La Riviera. It will feature performances by Ile, Carlinhos Brown, Ana Tijoux and Aterciopelados on 12 July, 11 September, 9 October and 26 November, respectively.
IBEROEXPERIA aims to present the best of contemporary music in Latin America, Portugal and Spain, through a series of concerts that will showcase the powerful musical diversity of Ibero-America. An event that brings together the best of each culture, promoting the art of encounter, in which several Ibero-American artists share the same stage.
This season will turn Madrid into the beating heart of Ibero-American culture, seeking to create deep international connections based on music, as one of the main ways of communicating the emotions and roots of a population. The line-up includes some great artists known nationally and internationally. With this format, it aims to support musicians who are already well known in Latin America but less so in Spain. It also allows Spanish artists to reach other territories and markets.
There will be performances by the singer iLe (Puerto Rico), who has been the singer with Calle 13, a band formed with her half-brothers, René Pérez Joglar “Residente” (on her mother's side) and Eduardo Cabra “Visiante” (on her father’s side), for ten years now. She has won a Grammy in the category Best Rock, Urban or Alternative Album. Nacarile, her third studio album, is based on her affinity for classical Latin American genres and Puerto Rican folk percussion
The concert on 11 September will feature Carlinhos Brown (Brazil), Ibero-American Ambassador of Culture. This singer-songwriter, musical arranger, multi-instrumentalist, judge on The Voice Brasil and The Voice Kids Brasil, has dedicated his career to his musical and social engagement and is considered one of the most creative and innovative artists in Brazilian culture. His most recent album, Pop Xirê (2023) features a mix of languages and compositions in Yoruba, Portuguese and Spanish.
Franco-Chilean singer, music, rapper, lyricist and songwriter Ana Tijoux (Chile) will be on stage on 9 October. She has a solid solo career that began in 2009, spanning five studio albums, a Latin Grammy received in 2014 and six other Grammy and Latin Grammy nominations. In 2024, the artist is returning to the world stage with her fifth studio album entitled VIDA.
The season comes to a close with a performance by the emblematic Colombian rock band Aterciopelados. The group formed by Andrea Echeverri and Héctor Buitrago has been on the alternative Ibero-American music scene for 30 years, with so many classic tracks to their name. Thanks to their album Claroscura (2018), the duo won their third Latin Grammy in the category Best Alternative Music Album, and in 2019 they were nominated at the 61st edition of the Grammy Awards in the category Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album. In 2024, the band is releasing El Dorado En Vivo, the new version of the seminal Colombian rock album of the 90s. A powerful and visionary sound fusion that immortalises the classic hits that brought them so much success.
