The latest edition of the International Tourism Trade Fair, better known as FITUR, will be held from 22 to 26 January 2025 at IFEMA MADRID. It takes place over five days and hosts professionals from the tourism sector and those interested in the sector’s latest tendencies, as well as the general public wishing to discover the destinations offered that can be visited at the fair over the weekend. The 2025 edition will include Mexico as a partner country.
FITUR is the global meeting point for tourism professionals and the leading trade fair for incoming and outbound markets in Ibero-America. It is a global reference in the tourist sector that with great diversity and talent, enabling areas that are totally specialised to be at this event.
The trade fair continues to advance in its line of specialisation, helping to promote the different industrial sectors that have an impact on tourism, and which have developed an entire tourism strategy around their activity. The traditional specialised sections will also be present:
- FITURTechy, organised in collaboration with the Instituto Tecnológico Hotelero (ITH)
- FITUR Know-How & Export, organised by SEGITTUR in collaboration with ICEX Spain Export and Investment
- FITUR LGBT+ which will address different themes with the aim of revitalising tourism and enhancing the diversity of different destinations under the "Love to Travel” claim
- FITUR Lingua, in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Associations of Spanish Schools for Foreigners, FEDELE
- FITUR Talent, which will highlight talent and training as drivers of tourism development
- FITUR Woman which will focus its debate on the role of women in the world of work in the tourism industry
- FITUR Screen, devoted to connecting the tourism and audiovisual industries, in collaboration with SPAIN FILM COMMISSION
- FITUR Mice, in the days leading up to the opening of FITUR.
- FITUR Cruises, focusing on the cruise industry
- FITUR Sports, focusing on the global sports tourism market
FITUR Balance 2024
Global influence has been one of the key aspects of the 44th edition of FITUR, which was specifically boosted by the participation of 152 countries and 96 official representations (20 more than in 2023).
The balance revealed total attendance of 250,000 visitors: more than 153,000 professionals and 97,000 members of the general public (up 13.7% on 2023) with 806 lead exhibitors, 9 halls, and the work carried out by the FITURNEXT Observatory to channel the International Tourism Fair’s sustainable commitment.
