Sports bars in Madrid

Madrid is a city that loves bars and loves sport, so it is not surprising that the two pleasures come together. Practically any Madrid bar could be a sports bar when a major competition is on, particularly if it is football and the national side or one of the city’s big teams is playing. However, many establishments have made sport their main purpose. Here are some of the most interesting ones.

LALIGA TwentyNine's LEGENDS 

Legends. The Home of football, an original museum for football fans, opened its doors in June 2023. Located just off Puerta del Sol, it has a restaurant, a new and revolutionary Sports Bar concept based on innovation and technology. This 600m² establishment with capacity for more than 180 people is LALIGA’s first themed restaurant in Madrid and combines sport, innovation, gastronomy and leisure.

LaLiga TwentyNine's – Sport Bar Madrid

At No. 53, Calle Gran Vía., there is a new concept of sports bar that proposes a culinary experience alongside live coverage of all the best LaLiga games as well as other major sporting events.

38 Sport Pub

In the heart of the city, Calle Preciados, 38, this establishment is known for its wide range of tapas, portions and mixed dishes.

La Cervecería Deportiva

Another establishment specialised in welcoming fans on competition days is this beer house, which does not neglect the art of pouring a good beer.  

Bar Soccer

Perhaps it is one of the most resolute establishments outside the city centre.

Podium Sports Bar

Outside the city centre, in the Pavones neighbourhood, this establishment offers an atmosphere devoted to sports broadcasts,  serving a large number of tapas and classic portions.

Bar Deportivo

Another name that doesn’t leave you guessing. This establishment in the Prosperidad neighbourhood —Calle de Gabriel Lobo, 23— also offers good service and delicious food.  

Panenka Restaurant

Located in the neighborhood Tetuán (Cuatro Caminos) -Calle de Orense, 6- is a bar-restaurant set in the world of football. In addition, it has a private club to watch the best football matches and sporting events, surrounded by other fans.

NFL Madrid Bar

This bar located at Calle Laurel, 4, is decorated in the American style where American Football National League matches are broadcast, along with the much awaited annual Super Bowl. It is a place where football fans can see matches from major competitions, such as the Bundesliga or the Premier League.

Bar Akelarre

You will find this bar at No. 104, Calle Nicolasa Gómez, right by the Civitas Metropolitano Stadium. The perfect place for football fans gathering to watch the game.

Sports Pub Madrid

Book a place to watch major sporting events in the company of friends (meetings at various venues: Calle Marqués de Santa Ana, 11; Calle del Almendro, Calle Mayor and Calle San Mateo)

Irish Pubs

Many Irish-inspired bars and pubs in Madrid are also a pole of attraction for sports fans, especially to enjoy Six Nations rugby matches.

Some classic pubs are O'Connell, La Fontana de Oro, Finnegans, James Joyce Irish Pub Madrid or The Irish Rover.
