Maestrissimo - Yllana

In the wake of Pagagnini, the Yllana Company proposes a gestural comedy for all the family, which combines a chamber concert with a satirical portrayal of the times in the 18^th century. It is an allegro e molto vivace show that will be performed at Teatro Infanta Isabel from 4 December to 12 January (Wednesday to Sunday).

A string quartet from somewhere around the 17^th and 18^th centuries (Barroque and  Neoclassicism) come together to perform a very special  recital. They include a supporting-act musician with immense talent, who is seeking to climb the musical ladder and achieve the title of maestrissimo.

The main characters perform extracts from maestros such as Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Brahms, Beethoven, Sarasate and Pagagnini. However, the concert also includes reminiscences of other genres, such as rock, pop, jazz, film soundtracks and other musical expressions, such as flamenco song.

Yllana is an artistic group that got together in 1991 and is specialised in gestural theatre. Its performances have become great pieces of Spanish silent humour. Some of the most acclaimed are Splash!, 666, Olimplaff or Action Man, among others. Its productions have been performed in 44 countries and have been seen by more than one and a half million spectators. 

Throughout its history, it has won numerous awards, such as the Max Award for Performing Arts 2012 for the Best Musical Show for Avenue Q, the Max Award for Performing Arts 2010 for the Best Children’s Show for Zoo or the Award for the best Show at the Fringe Festival 2008 (Edinburgh-United Kingdom) for Pagagnini.
