On 14 August, La Riviera will host a one-off show led by the iconic and charismatic bass player of Kiss, Gene Simmons, accompanied by his band of musicians. This concert will also include the performance of the Spanish heavy metal group, Obús, which will be the opener.
Gene Simmons, known for his imposing presence on stage and his unmistakeable style, stands out for being a founding member, along with Paul Stanley, of the American rock band, Kiss in the 1970s. Simmons contributed significantly to the group’s success and popularity, becoming one of the most influential groups in the history of rock.
Kiss has sold its albums worldwide and has left a huge mark on the musical culture thanks to hits like I Was Made for Lovin’ You, Detroit Rock City, Love Gun, Shout It Out Loud and Rock and Roll All Nite, among many others. In recognition of its career and legacy, the band has formed part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame since 2014 and it was given a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in 1999.
In addition to his career with Kiss, Gene Simmons has been on solo tours and participated in diverse projects in different fields, from appearances in films and TV programmes to a time when he was a writer and speaker. The heavy metal band from Madrid, Obús, will be the supporting act for the concert. This group has a musical career of more than 40 years under its belt and is led by the vocalist, Fortu Sánchez.
