CaixaForum Madrid invites visitors on a journey to prehistoric times in order to discover what the great dinosaurs that inhabited Patagonia were like through the work carried out by palaeontologists. The exhibition, which consists of several replicas and fossils of dinosaur skeletons found in this region, can be visited from 18 July 2024 to 6 April 2025.
This travelling exhibition, created by the Egidio Feruglio Museum in Trelew, in the Argentinean Patagonia, has thirteen modules focusing on the main dinosaurs found in the region and grouped into carnivorous species, giant sauropods and other smaller herbivorous species. It features fifteen dinosaur skeleton moulds and a selection of original fossils that enable visitors to discover how evolutionary changes occurred in the different groups of dinosaurs and learn about their unique and surprising peculiarities. Each skeleton highlights specific adaptations and evolutionary changes, showing how species change over time and how evolutionary trends can be recognised in the fossil record.
The star of the exhibition is a thirty-metre long replica of a Patagotitan mayorum, which will leave nobody feeling indifferent.
It is undoubtedly an exhibition designed to attract and dazzle all audiences, taking them on a journey into the past, transporting them to the kingdom of the most impressive reptiles that have ever walked on Earth.
