Madrid Hotel Week, first edition in November

For ten days during November, the spotlight will be on Madrid’s hotels with an endless array of cultural and leisure activities for all audiences and sector professionals during the 1st Madrid Hotel Week, an initiative that intends to break away from the sector’s traditional image.

The event’s organisers, the Asociación Empresarial Hotelera de Madrid (AEHM – Hotel Business Association of Madrid) presented the 1st Madrid Hotel Week last July, a pioneering sector microevent set to take place in November in Madrid with the intention of breaking free from the general concept and traditional image of hotels through a series of avant-garde activities and experiences.

The event offers a jam-packed programme of activities aimed at all audiences and sector professionals.  Taking as a starting point the hotel as “a welcoming establishment”, this programme is being developed to “contribute towards positioning hotels in Madrid as generators of experiences and content, converting itself into a nerve centre for national and international visitors and city dwellers”.

Among other activities at Madrid Hotel Week there will be top chefs from some of the hotels’ restaurants, exhibitions, themed tours, live music, meetings with design and architectural professionals, experiences in wellness centres, children’s workshops… and a large number of initiatives aimed at the general public and professionals alike.

The activities will be themed around architecture, gastronomy, health, design, technology, art, music, sport, literature, the stage and shopping and will take place at 25 hotels in Madrid, from the 3rd to the 12th of November.

The Madrid Hotel Week programme will be based on two main themes: the hotel as a professional space and the hotel as a place for leisure. There will also be a specially created range of children’s activities. Furthermore, all the activities held under the umbrella of this initiative organised by the AEHM will strengthen its commitment to Madrid’s citizens and to the city itself, by fostering solidarity, a healthy lifestyle, access to culture for everyone and respect for the environment, and other core values related to AEHM’s corporate social responsibility.
