The American singer and guitarist, former guitarist with the folk-rock act Band of Horses, is performing at Siroco on 10 November as part of his new concert tour, showcasing tracks from his latest album, New Lost Ages, released in 2024.
Ramsey was lead guitarist and co-writer of songs for Band of Horses for a decade. In 2017, he left the band to devote himself to his solo career, coinciding with the departure of bassist Bill Reynolds. During his years with the band, the musician released three solo albums: his eponymous début in 2005, A Long Dream About Swimming Across The Sea (2008) and The Valley Wind (2011). His fourth album, For The Morning, came out in 2019, a vibrant record that includes contributions from friends and new collaborators, standing out for its beautiful vocal harmonies and guitar counterpoints.
In February 2024, he brought out his fifth album, New Lost Ages, which is the main premise of this tour. This album was recorded in Washington with the producer of Band of Horses and the collaboration of bassist Morgan Henderson and drummer Sean Lane. It is an indie-folk album that leans towards rock and features a song dedicated to Neal Casal, musician and guitarist who passed away in 2019.
