Cultural Association of Madrid Painters Taller Abierto has been holding open-air group exhibitions since 1984 showing original works by 40 artists.
Plaza del Conde de Barajas, in the heart of Medieval Madrid becomes Plaza de los Pintores (Painters’ Square) on Sundays. This is the space that houses an important artistic and cultural feature in Madrid: the Painters’ Square.
In 1984, the Municipal Council of center of Madrid gave this space together with the Arco de Cuchilleros to Madrid’s painters’ collective Taller Abierto, for exhibition and sales of their paintings. Ever since then, this exhibition has been one of the main display for talent of the artists of this group.
Painters’ Market and Taller Abierto also take part of the big events that take place in Madrid. The World Pride, Las Meninas de Velázquez, the Carnival, Christmas, etc. are just some of the features that could have been seen from the Plaza de los Pintores of Madrid.
