The experienced Italian pianist and composer is coming to Madrid to present a preview of his new project at Teatro Real on 9 November.
Ludovico Einaudi was born in Turin, Italy, in 1955. His father, Giulio Einaudi, was a publisher and intellectual, while his grandfather, Luigi Einaudi, was President of Italy from 1948 to 1955. In his early years, he played the piano with his mother. He began his musical training at the Verdi Conservatory in Milan, obtaining a diploma in composition in 1982. He then moved to the United States to further his education.
Under the influence of Erik Satie, Einaudi found his musical language by combining piano sounds, electronic chords and other string instruments. Having released more than twenty albums, he is one of today’s greatest new-age music composers.
Einaudi is also a film score composers. His works in this department include the scores for This Is England, The End Is My Beginning, The Intouchables, award-winning films like Nomadland (Golden Globe Awards) or The Father (Academy Awards, Bafta), and many others.
His newly-released album Cinema (2021) gathers much of the music he composed for film and television. In his podcast Experience: The Ludovico Einaudi Story, he talks to renowned filmmakers and performers: Russell Crowe, Chloé Zhao, Éric Toledano, and many others.
