José María García de Paredes. Spaces of encounter

From 2 October to 12 January, the Fundación ICO museum is putting on an exhibition commemorating the centenary of the birth of José María García de Paredes, considered one of Spain’s most important architects from the second half of the twentieth century.

This exhibition curated by the architect Ángela García de Paredes reviews the career of the Spanish architect whose archive is kept entirely in the Reina Sofía Museum. 

The exhibition contextualises the work of José María García de Paredes within the rich cultural, architectural and artistic panorama of his time, as well as the most prominent representatives with whom he collaborated closely. It also explores the architect’s close bonds with music that spurred him on to design some of the most important auditoriums in Spain.
