From 19 September to 5 January 2025, Mapfre Foundation. Recoletos Exhibition Hall will be home to an exhibition that brings together the work of the thirty-one artists who took part in the Exhibition by 31 Women organised by Peggy Guggenheim in her New York gallery “Art of This Century” in 1943.
Most of the artists who were part of this project were linked to the surrealist movement and abstraction. Among these artists were renowned figures on the art scene and emerging talents.
This exhibition aims to highlight Guggenheim’s patronage work and address the context in which the artists with whom she worked from her New York gallery developed their artistic activity, as well as the collaboration networks established between them.
