In the Ensanche de Carabanchel area stands this striking building developed by EMVS in the first decade of the 21st century. Designed by ACM arquitectos, the winners of the competition held by the City Council before 2009, the houses recall shipping containers stacked in a port.
The interplay of colours (yellow, red, blue, green and orange) and the use of concrete together with prefabricated elements and structures create an unusual composition in Madrid’s urban landscape, where most buildings are exposed or rendered brick. In this area, located between the major roads that connect the city to Andalusia (A-IV) and Extremadura (A-V), EMVS continues to carry out some of its most daring and experimental developments.
In 2010, it received an award from the Madrid College of Architects (COAM) and Asprima, the construction business association of Madrid.
