Ballet de Lorraine. Static Shot (Maud Le Pladec) / Malón (Ayelén Parolin)

On 15 and 16 November at the Conde Duque Cultural Centre, Ballet de Lorraine will perform the Spanish première of a show consisting of two modern dance pieces that invite social and cultural reflection with the participation of 24 dancers.

First of all, Static Shot by Maud Le Pladec presents a futuristic and cold fashion show, in which dance merges with the catwalk. Dancers like statues, precise movements and a minimalist design lead to deliberation on the artificial nature of contemporary beauty.

Malón by Ayelén Parolin immerses the audience into controlled chaos. Inspired by massive eruptions, it explores joint energy and constant transformation. Through repetitive and spontaneous movements, the dancers create a living and evolving choreography.

Both productions, although disparate, share a common denominator: the search for new forms of expression. Le Pladec and Parolin defy the conventions of dance, questioning the perceptions of the body, movement and beauty.

Ballet de Lorraine is a dance company based in Nancy (France) which has become one of Europe’s most important contemporary dance references. Since it was founded in 1969, it has been a space for experimentation and creation, combining its own productions with those by foreign artists, such as Isadora Duncan, Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, Saburo Teshigawara or Olivia Grandville.
