For yet another year, Madrid joins in the celebrations for International Jazz Day, hosting an extensive programme of activities related to music and dance in this musical genre. The new edition of the festival will be held from 26 April to 5 May by Madrid en Vivo, the Madrid Association of Chamber Halls. The musicians who will take part in this latest edition include Jorge Pardo, Fitasha, Quique Gómez, Uriel Herman, Javier Moreno and Gunhild Carling.
The programme includes a wide range of multi-disciplinary activities that promote the cultural movement in all of its facets: concerts, jam sessions, conferences and exhibitions designed for fans of the jazz culture and music.
The concerts will be held at various La Noche en Vivo halls, such as Café Berlín Club Madrid, Hangar 48, Maravillas Club, Tempo Audiophile Club, Clamores, Sala Villanos, Café Central, Intruso Bar, Rincón del Arte Nuevo and El Despertar, bringing together leading voices on the jazz music scene.

30 April was declared International Jazz Day by the UNESCO General Conference in 2011, and has been held in hundreds of countries ever since, with events related to this genre. International Jazz Day aims to highlight the virtues of jazz music as an educational tool and driving force for peace, unity, dialogue and encouraging cooperation between people.
Madrid is hosting this event since 2018, with the aim of institutionalising this initiative and become the official headquarters for future editions. The programme is once more based on essential values and objectives that make the city unique, such as the close ties with New Orleans, the fusion of jazz and flamenco and highlighting the important role of women.
