Located in the former Barceló theatre, for many years it was known as Pacha, one of the biggest hotspots in Madrid’s 'Movida' cultural movement of the 80s. Now, Teatro Barceló is one of the most select and glamorous clubs in the area of Tribunal. It is divided into three different areas so that you can enjoy a wide variety of different music styles. The building in which it is housed has been declared a Cultural Interest Monument by Madrid’s Regional Government.
The club draws a very varied crowd, usually over the age of 25, although in the afternoons at weekends it is reserved for the under 18s, becoming an alcohol-free disco. The club has a strict dress code.
The club, spread over three floors, is divided into different rooms: The Main Room and the Upper Room, with three bars, a stage with tables, comfortable chairs and large screens; the Scotch Room, a smaller area with a different vibe from the Main Room, which can hold around 150 people; and the legendary El Cielo, which can accommodate up to 350 people and is spread across two floors, completely independent of the rest of the building.
This venue can also be hired for private events such as launches, family gatherings…
On 17 May 2023, the building that houses this club was declared a Cultural Interest Monument by Madrid’s Regional Government. Designed as a cinema in 1930 by architect Luis Gutiérrez Soto, it is a prominent example of Spanish rationalist architecture from the first half of the twentieth century.
